A journey into the original functions of life.
A return to the body as a place of wisdom and trust.
An invitation into aliveness, connection, and the freedom to create life anew.
Before we learn how to live, life already lives through us.
Instincts are not something primitive to be overcome. To reconnect with our instincts is most advanced act to be human.
They are the original intelligence of life – the biological wisdom that protects, regulates, and guides us toward nourishment, connection, pleasure, rest, and belonging.
In this workshop, through movement, music, encounter, touch, and shared presence, we aspire to awaken the instincts with their capacity for:
– Vitality and grounding
– Refuge and belonging
– Joy of sensorial experience
– Being nourished and sharing
– The source of trust, orientation, and inner safety
Existential creativity is not an artistic skill.
It is a fundamental function of life itself.
It is the courage to create one’s life from within.
It is the capacity to shape one’s own existence as a living work of art.
It does not express itself primarily through producing objects, but through the quality of our being: how we love, relate, decide, express ourselves, and respond to life.
True creativity arises from contact with one’s own aliveness. It is embodied, not conceptual. It emerges from instinctive, affective, and emotional experience, not from the achieving mind.
Existential creativity is an act of freedom – a liberation from rigid roles, habitual patterns, and conditioned reactions. It is deeply relational and unfolds in contact with oneself, with others, and with the living world.
Friday evening offers a gentle arrival and integration, creating a safe and nourishing group field.
Saturday is dedicated to instincts and the biological foundations of life, combining theory and vivencias that restore trust in instinctual intelligence and its role in creativity.
Sunday opens the space of existential creativity: movement, voice, play, encounter, and expression as tools for shaping one’s life from within.
Throughout the weekend, theory and five vivencias are woven together – a unique journey where understanding and experience supporting and enriching one another.
“If the act of life is a subtle manifestation of the powerful movement of a universe that is biologically organizing itself in constant ‘present creation,’ then human creativity may be understood as an extension of these very biocosmic forces expressing themselves in each individual. We are at once message, creation, and creator.
I understand the difficulties this vision may pose, especially for those accustomed to viewing creativity as a manifestation of the mind. The time has now come to acknowledge that our greatness does not lie in the mind, but in existence. And expressed in an even more radical way: our greatness is our life.” – Rolando Toro (creator of Biodanza)
I feel deeply honored to co-create this workshop with Viviana Toro Matuk, who has been a beloved and inspiring teacher and friend on my own Biodanza and life journey.
Viviana is a social and cultural anthropologist with a profound love for the body, movement, embodied cognition, and the many ways humans find meaning through art, ritual, and healing.
She is co-director of the Model school of Biodanza Sistema Rolando Toro in Milan (the very first Biodanza School in Europe) and founder of the Biocentric Research Laboratory. Beyond her extensive international experience as a Biodanza teacher, didacta and researcher, Viviana explores the healing potential of movement in mental health, weaving together insights from anthropology, philosophy, and embodied practice.
Most of all, Viviana carries forward the luminous legacy of her father, Rolando Toro, the creator of Biodanza, bringing his vision to life through her teachings, workshops, and books. Her work invites us to connect deeply with our bodies, awaken our creativity, and embrace the shared humanity that unites us all.
Below are some books authored or co-edited by Viviana:
Estetica antropologica. Per una poetica dell’umano (Anthropological Aesthetics – For a Poetics of the Human)
Degni di umanità. Verso un’estetica antropologica (Worthy of Humanity: Toward an Anthropological Aesthetic)
Natural Symbols by Mary Douglas (a seminal exploration of the culture of the body)
Born in China and now based in Munich, Yunbei is a Biodanza teacher and Didacta of the Rolando Toro System. Her work is devoted to reconnecting human beings with the wisdom of the body, the intelligence of the heart, and the creative force of life itself. With depth, sensitivity, and warmth, she creates spaces in which people can rediscover their vitality, authenticity, and capacity for transformation through movement, encounter, and lived experience.
Together, Viviana and Yunbei hold a safe, vibrant, and nourishing space for this journey into the world of instincts and existential creativity — an invitation to awaken those living impulses that guide us toward greater aliveness, freedom, and connection.
Please feel free to get in touch for more information. We are looking forward to welcoming you!
